too hot

I was in a position to knock this gig on the head two weeks previously knowing that the competition for Bournemouth Live and the football was very fierce and tickets were 'very' slow moving.

That's not what it's all about. I pulled my finger out and got on with the promoting because I also wanted to show that this 'different' Original Ska night was the start of things to come.

Four O started the night, they played their own original tunes and were great to kick the evening off. To be critical it may have been the equipment but the pauses between songs were making me a little uncomfortable but musically they were very good. Listen for yourself:

Four O

El Paso De Cebra impressed me no end. They have some really catchy tunes that I can't quite put my finger on. It's a younger generation skate board, BMX bike, surfboardy type ska ting they have going on. Have a listen to them here you'll be impressed.

El Paso

I have been keeping an eye on Too Hot for a few years they have had a break and I was looking forward to getting them down when they were ready again. They are very busy Plymouth way and I can see why. They pumped out a blinding set, tracks from their latest album Time Flies are excellent. Glyn on lead has an astoundingly clean generic voice that puts me to shame, he makes me sound like I have more catarrh then Jimmy Hendrix!

Too Hot

I really hope all three bands are up for another blast in future. The crowd really enjoyed the night and what great value for money £5 and £1.80 a pint what more can you ask!!!!!!!
